Game Development Educator

The Game Development Educator will assist with the logistics and implementation of the fall after school programming at Geek Forest. 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare for and facilitate the fall after school programming.
  • Promote positive interactions amongst program participants.
  • Provide programming implementation and safety requirements during program session.
  • Maintain an organized work area, including care of tools and enrichment activity supplies.
  • Pickup participants from local area schools.
  • Aid with the check in and check out procedures.
  • Take program photos, report student progress, and post on parent social media.

Requirements:

  • Interest and enthusiasm in teaching primary school levels as well as a passion for game development thru enrichment education.
  • Must be a great communicator, must be well organized and have excellent classroom management skills.
  • Must be professional, mature and an optimistic attitude is essential.
  • Excellent people and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent leadership/mentoring skills.
  • Extremely dependable and a self-starter.

Experience or high interests in:

Game Development, Gaming, Animation and Art + Design 

Experience in any of the following a big plus:

Unity Game Engine 2D & 3D, RPG Maker, Blender, Unreal Engine, Roblox + Lua Coding, Minecraft Redstone + Minecraft Education, Bloxels Edu, Stop Motion Animation, Procreate + Procreate Dreams, Digital + Analog Comics/Manga, and Board Games + D&D.

Educator Pay: $25/hr 
Contract: September - January
Hours: Monday - Friday 2pm-6pm

Assistant Educator 

The Assistant Educator will assist with the logistics and implementation of the fall after school programming at Geek Forest. 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist supervisors and educators in preparing and facilitating for the fall after school program.
  • Promote positive interactions amongst program participants.
  • Aid in logistics and safety requirements during program sessions. 
  • Assist with general tasks in the with the participants, and maintain an organized work area, including care of tools and enrichment activity supplies. 
  • Pickup participants from local area schools.
  • Aid with the check in and check out procedures.
  • Take program photos and post on parent social media.

Requirements:
Interest in after school enrichment programming, great communication and organizational abilities. Must be professional, mature and having an optimistic attitude is essential.

Assistant Educator Pay: $15/hr.
Contract: September - January
Hours: Monday - Friday 2pm-6pm
