Image & Form: Art of Photography, Collage + Bookmaking
This course invites students to explore the intersection of photography, collage, and bookmaking. Throughout the program, participants will learn how to use photography as a tool for artistic expression and storytelling. By combining various photographic techniques with collage and bookmaking, students will create unique pieces that reflect their individual perspectives and creativity. The course will include hands-on projects, discussions on artistic concepts, and techniques to enhance their visual storytelling abilities.
Class Objectives:
- Utilize Photography as Artistic Expression: Explore how photography can be used creatively to enhance visual storytelling in collages and books.
- Incorporate Mixed Media: Combine various materials and techniques, including painting, drawing, and digital elements, to create dynamic collage compositions.
- Create Thematic Projects: Develop projects centered around specific themes or concepts, integrating photography to convey deeper narratives.
- Learn Bookbinding Techniques: Discover various bookbinding methods to produce unique artist books that showcase collages and photographs.
- Explore Photographic Manipulation: Experiment with digital manipulation techniques to alter and enhance photographs for use in collages.
